YVR06 to be held at the BCIT Downtown Campus

We have confirmed the much anticipated location for the upcoming YVR06 conference.

BCIT Downtown will host the world-wide first ever Ruby on Rails conference. With maxium capcity seating of 300 people, we are expecting this to be a sold out event.

We have over 50% of the tickets sold already, so if you have been waiting for us to annouce the venue, now is the time to register

Only 50 Tickets Left

If you have been putting off registering for the upcoming Canada on Rails conference, now is the time.

With only 50 tickets left, YVR06 is shaping up to sell out well before the event begins.

Registrations paid in full before April 1st benefit from the early bird discount of only $250. Tickets after April 1st until April 12th, will be $300, and if any tickets are available at the door, they will be sold for $350 (plus tax).

Earlier this morning we sold the last ticket available for the first ever Ruby on Rails conference in Vancouver on April 13th, and 14th.

So, for all those that heard about the event in time and had the chance to register, we look forward to seeing you in Vancouver.

For those that are interested in attending a workshop there are still 3 seats available for the Agile Development with Rails weekend with Steven Baker commencing immediately after the conference at BCIT.

In addition, on May 27th - 28th, we will be holding our debut workshop on Riding the Rails, the introductory workshop with Alex Bunardzic.

After Party for the Sold Out YVR06 Conference

On Friday, the last day of the conference there will be an afterparty at Vibes Lounge, 555 Davie Street, sponsored by Raincity Studios

There are only 145 tickets available, and will made available based on a first come first serve basis. Ticket cost is by donation, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Tickets will only be sold to those who present their conference badge, or ID to cross reference against the registration list. Only conference attendees are eligable to attend the after party between 6:30pm and 8:00pm.

For those that don't get a ticket, doors will open to the public at 8:00pm, and will be let in based on capacity.

This will be one of the best networking opportunities you can hope for during this event, so be sure to show your appreciation by donating generously to the Cancer Society.

Getting started Riding the Rails Workshop, May 27th & 28th

On Saturday and Sunday, May 27th to 28th, Alex Bunardzic will be instructing a two day workshop guiding you through understanding the Ruby on Rails framework, and getting you on track with your first Rails application.

The workshop is an intensive two day course for those eager to get rapidly up to speed with the in's and out's of Rails. There is limited seating, so be sure to book your ticket soon before all the tickets are sold.

Canada on Rails 2007 in Toronto this Fall

That's right, Canada on Rails is back at it and we are heading back east to Toronto, Ontario. Canada's largest city, and soon to be home of Canada on Rails 07'.

We have been scouting out various venues and will be announcing the date as soon as we have locked down the location. What we can say, is that it will be in October on either the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the first, third or fourth week.

Check back soon as we unveil the new site as well as a few keynote speakers we have invited to present.
